Dear Dr. Kučera,

As current Interim President of the Sitelen Pona Publishers and Typographers Association, I hereby support and endorse the publication of the Common Sitelen Pona standard for representation of Sitelen Pona in the Private Use Area of Unicode, as approved by a supermajority (70% or more) of Association members.

This will allow both hobbyist and professional users to interchange text in the Sitelen Pona script until such time as it is deemed stable and ready for inclusion in the Universal Character Set, also known as Unicode.

Thank you to all who support the Toki Pona language and the Sitelen Pona script and all who work to move it forward.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Bettencourt

Context

This letter is in response to a February 7, 2025 email from Dr. Jan Kučera of the Unicode Consortium, which stated: “As for formal stability requirements, no changes to the repertoire in the last 5 years would be viewed as a good indication of stability.”
