Some number of years ago, when Dana Prewitt started elementary school, she met two girls who lived on her street named Wynona Taylor and Tenaya Gleasen. They quickly became best friends.

When middle school started, Dana, Wynona, and Tenaya went to a school that nobody else from their elementary school went to. Lucky for them, because they met Diana Tressell, Ramona Shenry, Fiona Cennetemp, and Mañana Terrarra. Now they're all best friends.

Most of the time Dana and her friends take on Linda Vista together, but occasionally they meet up with other groups. The popular girls, Flora, Flossie, Frashy, and Fontana, sometimes get in their way. Dana also has other friends, Denise, Harriet, Wanda, the Claires and their three friends Holly, Sylvia, and Laura, and a little girl named Virginia whom nobody seems to know.
