My name is Rebecca Gabriella Bettencourt. I'm a rather strange person. I'm very shy and hardly ever say anything. I'm a software artist, a cartoonist, a writer, a poet. I have so much Kreative energy I'm not sure where to put it: computer software? web design? painting? drawing? novels? poetry? music? I like to make lists without conjunctions. I have a strong belief in the coexistence of science and God. I am so much an amalgam of several stereotypes that I defy them all. All generalizations are false.
I started drawing back in second grade, before I even existed. I created the state of Mylar, in the country of PTSNQLASKGENSSHF (commonly abbreviated to PTSN). I started programming in fourth grade, starting with web sites and HyperCard stacks. When I entered seventh grade at River School, my Kreations quickly flourished in the new environment, as I did. Mylar gained a capitol city, Mylar City, as well as a wealth of characters and plot lines. In addition to HTML and HyperTalk, I learned Apple II BASIC, 65C02 assembly language, RealBasic, and the rudiments of the C syntax family of languages.
At the start of my senior year at New Technology High School, Mylar City was renamed to Mika City. It was time for a change, and it came at a good time because I happened to have a few more tricks up my sleeve. My cartoon style got a lot more human, I started novelizing my stories, and I started making my collection of useless information a lot more organized. I broke out of my shell a bit.
I am currently attending college at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. During my freshman year I underwent an amazing (and agonizing) path to self-discovery, and popped myself into existence. I now know C, C++, Objective C, Java, JavaScript, Perl, PHP, 65C02 assembly, BASIC, RealBasic, HyperTalk, AppleScript, HTML, and Facebook application development. I am currently novelizing Mika City, exploring my other interests, and finding my way out into the real world.
